I’ve been reading “The Artist’s Way” with a dear friend and have again been introduced to the idea that creating is a spiritual act. By whatever name you choose to call the universal energy (“God” or otherwise), it is undoubtedly a creative force (what has it not created afterall?). Being creative means tapping into that flow. All that to say, it’s no surprise that music for one fits music for the other.
I’ve moved to Clapton, a changing neighborhood in the North East of London. It’s just north of Hackney and east of Stoke Newington. Being super close to these two neighborhoods, means you are only ever a 10 minute walk away from the cool London favourites of those areas. Hammersmith, a well connected and unassuming neighborhood in the West of London, was my home for my first year here. This weekend I moved east. Before I go though, here are my top five things to do in Hammersmith!
Saturday tour of craft breweries in London
One Saturday afternoon this March, me and a couple of friends (Thank you for planning, Anton!) tried to hit 8 craft breweries in London in one go. We headed south and walked between five breweries, then hopped on the tube to check out the last three. It was a lot of fun and we drank loads of good beer. A friend of mine got a couple of tickets to the Orla Kiely show at London fashion week this past weekend. He invited me to go and of course I accepted. I’ve never been to a fashion show!
The show was hosted in a building that Saint Martins used to use. It was pretty awesome. It had this quirky entrance whereby the door was more of a hole in the side of the building.
