What I’ve been looking at online this week…
My fabulous boyfriend got me (among other things) a yoga mat for Christmas. Hard to believe that someone who likes yoga as much as I do does not have their own mat, but it’s true. I’m so excited to finally have my own! Anyway, I haven’t been going to any classes since I’m in the states, but having my own mat has been really inspiring to keep up with my personal practice. I’ve been looking at charts for ashtanga sequences a lot. I’ve been doing hot power yoga in London, but not feeling the spiritual connection to it that I’m seeking. I’m looking forward to trying a new studio when I return.
I’ve had a couple of really great practices on the new mat this week, including one where I really understood Warrior I for the first time. Instead of being really uncomfortable, straining my hips and shoulders, it was powerful. With a centered pelvis effortlessly supporting my top half, I truly felt like a warrior. RAH! Still, I long to be as flexible and strong as the Ross Sisters. Holy Cow.
As a certified “Sweat Monster,” I really dig the tips in this article about pit stains… (I bet you’re really glad It old you about that, aren’t you? I feel like we’re closer now).
